SCOTLAND v ENGLAND UNDER-21 1998 Largely thanks to the Linlithgow club there were enough Scottish riders in 1998 to revive the international side. England Under-21 were appropriate opposition with some exciting youngsters coming north under manager Graham Reeve for the first match of the series at Armadale on 12th June. It proved to be one of the best meetings we've ever had at the track, a 51-45 win to the Scots and some superb racing, the star being James Grieves with a 15-point maximum. Sadly this match introduced tactical substitutes to the international arena, but it was otherwise a great night.
